Arab Music Theory, Maqamat and Solfege 

These courses are based on the oral teaching tradition in which students explore the Arab musical maqam system. They sing and read the music they play. This helps them become better musicians through improving their music script sight-reading, and providing them with a better understanding of the Arab music traditions.
Audience
: Adults over 18 years old
Type of activity: The courses are based on the Oral tradition. Students are exploring the Arab musical Maqam system. They are expected to analyze pieces from Maqam repertoire during their one to one instrument class. They sing and read the music they are playing. This helps students to become a better musician through improving their sight reading and aural skills and a better understanding to the Arab Music Tradition.

Musicianship for ABRSM Grade 5, 6, 7 and 8 Theory

Students in this class receive training on taking ABRSM exam, where passing students gain an internationally recognised certificate. There are six levels and the exam date is in March of every year.
Audience
: Children between 14 and 18 years old.
Type of activity: : These grades are designed as an intensive, academic programme for students usually aged between 14 and 18 who are serious about music and play an instrument to a high level. Students are required to take the relevant ABRSM exam at the end of each grade, with certificates issued by ABRSM accordingly. Some courses are taken over a two year period depending on the background of the student. This course runs for the full academic year with students studying theory, aural, music history and analysis.
